Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is one of America's - and the World's - great cities. The "City of Brotherly Love" is a dynamic and vibrant place to live, work, visit, and play. Historically, since Colonial times, Philadelphia has been the "Cradle Of Liberty", a prominent and vital center of democracy, freedom, and commerce.
Today, in its Renaissance, Philadelphia reclaims its role as a prominent and leading world-class city - offering some of the brightest minds and top-notch facilities. Its unique historical, educational, and cultural attractions and convenient Northeast Corridor location make Philadelphia a 'hub' of activity and an important place to know.
RyKy Records (tm), the music label of Voron Communications, is proud to call Philadelphia its home, and we are also proud to literally sing the praises of the city in the song, "Philadelphia", by Philly's own Joseph F.M. Pokorny.
The song, from Joe's "Philadelphia, The Rock And Roll Musical", was released on RyKy's new "Songwriter Man" CD Album.
Additionally, because of unique lyrics in the "Philadelphia" song that actually spell out the city's name, we are excited to launch RyKy Records' "Spell 'Philadelphia'" civic/educational initiative.
Now, thanks to Joe, it's EASY to learn how to spell "Philadelphia"! Just listen to the soundclip from the song "Philadelphia", and sing along! We even provide the lyrics so you can see how "Philadelphia" is spelled, too!
Two soundclip versions are offered: a longer clip that includes mention of the word 'Philadelphia' and builds up momentum before the spelling exercise begins; and a shorter version that gets right into the spelling exercise...
